Project Management

v      Coordinator of FAO Global Trade Conference on Aquaculture. Designed and managed
website for the conference, handled the promotion activities for the conference,
coordinated registration and production of conference programme book.

 

v      FAO/TCP Regional Programme on strengthening national capabilities in seafood trade
policy including risk assessment and traceability (May 2005 – December 2006).

 

As Software/Database Consultant, assessed the present status of fishery data collection,
the maintenance system and database on regulations in 8 participating countries.
Developed on-line database containing vital and up-to-date information for the fishery
industries in these countries called FishTradeNet. Conducted a week’s of training for 8 officers from these countries in database management. I was also involved in organizing 3- day workshops in each of the 8 countries and a regional workshop besides being a resource person.

v      Study on the global industry and prospects for five commodities (black tiger shrimp,
seaweed, tilapia, grouper and seabass) with special reference to Malaysia.

 

v      Market study for Nile perch in selected Asian Markets (2003) for CFC/COMESA Project, 2003.

 

v      The Status of Global Tuna Resources and Trade with Special Reference to Malaysia, 2003.

 

v      Product Development Project and Consumer Study for Chilean Canned Grated Jack
      Mackerel, funded by Fundacion Chile, 2001/2002.

 

v       FAO study on Utilisation of by-catch fishery products in the Asia-Pacific region 2000.

·         Organised national workshops in 10 Asia Pacific countries.
